White, the no-color color, has an alluring quality that dares to be reckoned with. It can be both daunting and delicate at the same time. Even though we may not have a lot of snow this winter, take a cue from the Arctic one evening and create a winter wonderscape. Cook up a menu of polenta, parmesan, potato, califlower and fish and for dessert perhaps milkshakes, coconut sorbet or marshmallows. A clear liquor bar can serve up spirits with a splash. Decor can be kept simple with assorted white balloons, paper lanterns, and plates, and the table topped with clay candlestick holders and babies breath centerpieces. Monochromatic monotony no more.
