Fairview Cheese wanted a redesign of packaging that broadened their consumer base and brought down packaging costs in a money cautious market. The design agency, Coley Porter Bell, not only succeeded in delivering a great looking design that saved 8% of production costs but in one year following the re-launch with the new design, without any price reduction, value sales rose by 31.9% and 32.4%, exceeding the growth target of 25%.  Now that’s impressive!

Unlock the magic…Design Sponge did a post about the arm chair pillow but I couldn’t help but notice the lovely wall art in the backdrop. This lead me to click further, see original wall space before the chair in the pillow designer, Llubav Choy Duerr’s apartment here

My Mouth is literarily watering not just because of all the sweet treats showcased at this “Sugar And Spice And Everything Nice” shoot but because the details are absolutely heavenly. Jeanna Hayes, a Las Vegas photographer and Suzanne of SHE PAPERIE + design boutique created this candy land so that local photographers would have something sweet to shoot. It is pastel perfection with mixes of tethered fabrics, ribbon trims, rainbow candies, paper lanterns and fresh picked wildflowers. Loving also the diecut dotted signage, ribbon backed chairs, lace napkin rings, self serving cupcake dish and I am a total sucker for swizzle straws. Now won’t we all have sweet dreams tonight!

I saw these back at the gift show and have seen them popping up in gift boutiques all about the city. These fabulous totes make for great touristy treats to bring back from a trip or hotel goodie bags for wedding out-of-towners. Fill them with a city’s best finds… treats like the ultimate brownie, cookie or bag of potato chips, an I <3 tee, a subway map, and a local brew or wine. Now through Saturday September 18th they are having a 20% off sale. Something tote-lly worth checking out!

When so much work is put into the clothes and lines for fashion week, I am glad to see the preview invitations do not fall short of great expectations! The below designs use texture with feathers, and fabric to transform the ordinary to extraordinary. And who wouldn’t love a gift that keeps on giving, this pad and pencil set is super chic and useful… I totally want one!

A while back I told you I was taking a trip to Vegas for my sister Jen’s 30th birthday. There were 7 ladies on the long Memorial Day weekend trip set to party. Because the trip seemed more like vacation and less like a birthday party I wanted to be sure I brought with me some details to ring in the celebration right. I surprised my sister and the others by decorating her room with balloons, alcohol, festive bev naps, a special shot glass to call her own, a warning taped door, and goodie bags for each guest. Inside the goodie bags were a customized oversized tank (perfect for poolside), a labeled water bottle to help keep us hydrated, gum, and some sweet stuff. For Jen’s birthday dinner I ordered 2 dozen miniature cupcakes from a local bakery and had them delivered to the hotel, the candles read Oh no the big 30! And because what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas – the rest of the deats we’ll leave to the imagination.

Lastly, because being fabulous takes team work, a special thank you to the talented Shannon Stockbridge for the t-shirt and water bottle copy and Team Screen of Brooklyn for printing the tanks!

Jennifer James of Two Paper Dolls designed the below Save the Date for her sibling. With the perfect inside scoop Jennifer was able to create a colorful and detailed tale of how Kelly and Clayton met and set a date. The graphic ensemble is full of wit and charm and is a true typographical treasure.

This reminded me of Jill & Matt’s wedding invitation which also told a great story through type, see here.

A friend forwarded me this top work knowing I would be impressed. The creator, Jen Stark, sculpts paper patterns of repetition inspired by illustrations found in a medical book. The multicolored works challenge infinity and echo patterns found in nature. All hand cut, the sense of time and patience it would take to complete a piece is truly quite remarkable.
