Absolutely loving the table and chairs by Design Within Reach… if only I didn’t live in a tiny 1 bedroom in Manhattan.

This collage of black and white photos is so cool! I don’t know if I would have the patience to start something like this but I am absolutely in awe of how fabulous it looks.

Off to the Hamptons… if I had a beach home which someday I will - fingers crossed, this is what I would want my bedroom to look like. White washed walls, an organic carpet, sea scape artwork, elements sporadically placed and a majestic and serene view out the windows. One could sail far far away while dreaming in this environment. Happy weekend everyone!

One month. I have retreated from Impressed Inc for about one month, how quickly the times goes. I did not purposefully ignore this lovely little blog of mine, I just got burnt out, leaving no room for inspiring others let alone myself. Being kept busy with big birthdays, wedding festivities and travel was about all I could handle with a major work load and then on top of it all - the death of a loved one. I consider myself lucky that I have not had to experience such loss before now. If one keeps moving it doesn’t seem so tolling, however when the noise dies down it can truthfully be quite scary. So it was in AI Friedman the other day that I was shopping and saw canvases were 70% off, I have been wanting a piece of artwork for over my couch and figure this a great opportunity to get my creative juices flowing. And then the epiphany: life really is just a blank canvas. We paint what we wish and if we don’t like it we can wipe it clean and start all over. So this is what I plan to do, pick up my paintbrush, seek inspiration everywhere I turn and paint the most beautiful picture I can. Now of course this is theoretical but for the literal I am hoping it looks a little like these…

Real Simple is so fabulous for giving us ideas for multi-purposing so many of the things we have in our homes. Take the below for instance, a mix of innovative ways to utilize old things, leftover things, or reinvent things we weren’t even sure how to use in the first place. Featured are cupcake foils as tea light holders, a skateboard shelf for storing small novelties, pretty wallpaper as drawer liners (spray with perfume for added enjoyment), and a wine rack as a magazine holder. Perfect practice of the 3 R’s: Reduce. Reuse. Recycle.

If only chores were pleasant… but just because they aren’t, doesn’t mean that the space we do them in shouldn’t be. Loving this laundry room for soo many reasons: the painterly wall paper back splash, the cross hatch window panes on the cabinetry, the crisp white towels folded neatly and tucked away, the apothecary like soaps on the counter and the candle like lantern hanging from above. Tidy and titillating!

What a statement even just a small amount of wallpaper can make on a wall. As a renter I have not yet made the commitment to wallpaper but I can’t help but admire it and hope that when when my pasting days come beauties like the below are still around. Smitten with the birds, butterflies and botanicals Anthro’s collection is totally inspiring. Sold by the roll only, ranging from $108-$198, I may for now request a few samples to hang in frames in the bedroom so at least my dreams can flourish fancifully.

Because everyone knows I love all things chalkboard…check out this fabulous fixer upper from Danny Seo. He took his not-so-pretty fridge and made it not only funky but dually functional. What a great way to make a grocery list! I could see this in a college dorm room also, lots of creativity can spur with late night study sessions and the munchies.

Loving the fresh spring ideas from West Elm!  A big bowl of fruit is as functional as it is beautiful, a tray can make the carpet seem like a comfy place for reading, and a stack of books can add life to a console or side table.  Easy steps to make any space seem inviting.
